Superb Fairywren are all over the place these days. This one was found in Trin Warren Tam-boore on 10 December 2024. It looked like it is going to have its breakfast.

On 20 November 2024, I came across this male Superb Fairywren at Trin Warren Tam-boore singing with gusto.
The pose was excellent but there were some twigs and branches in the background. I think it contributes to tell a story of the habitat of the bird.
As an experiment, I used Adobe Photoshop to remove some objects in the background. This resulted in the second photograph.
What I feel about the alternated image is that it looks too sterile and, therefore, lacks authenticity. I think I still prefer the original photograph.

When I was contemplating buying the 800mm lens, I had the Superb Fairywrens in mind. I am glad that I have made this decision as this lens opened up so many opportunities to photograph small birds, especially, the Fairywrens.

I am on a bit of a roll photographing singing birds lately. When this particular bird starting calling, I didn’t hesitant to take the photograph.
The feathers of the bird standing on its end gives the Fairywren a bit of the punk look. When the bird took off, I did capture the bird’s wing in an interesting position but the shutter was too slow to freeze the action. I should have anticipated the bird’s next move. Hopefully, next time, I will be more prepared.

As we approach the breeding season, the Superb Fairy at Royal Park Trin Warren Tam-boorie are in full breeding plumage. They are also seemed to show themselves more these days.
These photographs of a calling Fairywren was taken on 18 September 2024. They are one of my favourite photograph subjects. These are probably some of the best photographs I have of this species. I like the them because it depicts the bird in its environment with blurry front and background giving the photographs a dreaming look. I like to take more of this type of photographs.

This photograph of a male Superb Fairywren was taken on 18 Dec 2024 at Royal Park Trin Warren Tam-Boore. I like this shot because it features the bird in the foreground but more importantly, the habitat is portrayed in layers. Some will argue that the blade of grass in the foreground is distracting but I think it adds to the authenticity of image as it depicts the bird in its natural surroundings.
